Job Description
As a Lead Camera Engineer in our Platform Camera and Multimedia team you will focus on architecture and implementation of camera and multimedia services in Mixed Reality systems. This position will offer you the chance to work on developing and implementing new and creative algorithms to solve dynamic problems. Responsibilities
- Architect, implement and optimize platform camera and multimedia framework and APIs
- Architect and implement innovative Mixed Reality recording and live streaming features
- Help instrument and optimize performance of multimedia pipeline
- Participate in development planning and prioritization
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience with C and C++
- In-depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries and open source development
- Experience with Android camera APIs, camera HAL, V4L2, image and video processing including DVS, HDR, Face Detection.
- A strong skill set in core video technology , system-level use cases (camera capture and video recording)
- Experience with optimization of image capture and video recording pipeline
- Experience with multi-threading and memory management specific to mobile devices
- Experience with Multimedia frameworks such as StageFright and/or GStreamer is a plus
- Very good oral and written communication skills to interact with cross functional teams that are geographically distributed
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field; Masters Degree highly preferred
