Lead Backend Engineer (f/m/d)
As a Lead Backend Engineer at YAGER you will work on The Cycle ( www.thecycle.game ), an awesome and exciting match-based FPS with an international team of highly experienced and talented developers that are passionate about their work.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain our online services
- Build a robust framework for future products
- Collaborate with DevOps and game teams in order to improve group productivity and integrate the services with infrastructure and game design
- Collaborate with 3 rd party partners to integrate with and enhance the features of our online services
- Mentor your team members to drive technical excellence
- Investigate technical issues impacting the game during development and live service
- Engage with leads and producers to establish engine related missions and schedules
- Write and maintain software system documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as Backend Engineer and hands on experience with live service, preferably on multiple titles
- Excellent C++ and C# skills
- Distributed systems experience
- Microservices architecture (Docker, orchestration)
- Networking experience in TCP / IP
- Messaging middleware experience (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Experience designing HTTP REST APIs
- Linux development experience
- Relational database development experience (e.g., MySQL, Postgres)
- Passionate about videogames
Desirable skills
- Unreal Engine 4 experience
- Scripting languages experience (e.g., Python)
- Functional languages (e.g. Scala)
- Experience with NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
