Lead Automation Programmer

Avalanche Studios is the division dedicated to ambitious, externally published, AAA open world games like Just Cause, Mad Max, and Rage 2 - our upcoming title Contraband is a co-op smuggler’s paradise set in the fictional world of 1970s Bayan.
Contraband is a brand new IP published by Xbox Game Studios, and we are looking for a senior programmer with automation experience to take a key role in our test automation team at the Stockholm or New York office.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of test automation engineers and programmers
- Form and drive the implementation of Contraband’s automation strategy
- Enable the Contraband team to reliably and efficiently deliver builds of the game, both internally and externally
- Continuously work to improve overall code architecture to help increase testability
- Coach programmers in good practices for writing automated tests
- Identify and suggest solutions to pain points in the workflow for creating automated tests
- Write requirements and suggest improvements for our centrally developed test automation framework
- Evangelize the benefits of automated testing within Avalanche Studios
Personal Qualities
- Passionate about automated testing
- Resourceful and possesses a "can do" attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken
- Desire to lead and mentor other programmers
Required Qualifications
- Experience working as a Programmer or Test Automation Engineer at Senior or Principal level
- Experience with several test automation frameworks
- Able to write readable, robust, and performant C++ code, and review the work of others
Beneficial Qualifications
- Experience from working with automated testing within the games industry.
