Position Summary:
We are looking for a Lead Artist to join a team creating a new suite of games, playing an integral role in the development of our games. You will be the primary stakeholder for visual quality and own the aesthetic vision of all of the suites’ games. As part of a small and efficient team, it is important that the Lead Artist have a generalist skillset, including experience in 2D, 3D and Unity. Our goal is to create high quality classic and casual games, and this position is critical to that end.
Responsibilities:
- Create the style and aesthetic vision for several mobile games.
- Primary artist for game assets on classic & casual mobile game titles.
- Works with Production and Engineers to implement art assets in Unity.
- Improve the visual quality of existing games.
- Creating both 2D and 3D assets.
- Optimize art assets for memory and performance issues.
- Create VFX & animations that bring our games to life.
- Ensure assets are appropriate for all supported devices (aspect ratios, etc.)
- Evaluate art bugs and apply appropriate solutions for bug fixes.
- Work with task/bug tracking software (Jira/Trello).
Qualifications:
- Proficient in 2D game art including character and logo designs.
- Some 3D proficiency to create models and game assets.
- Proficient in exporting and integrating art in Unity.
- Proven ability to animate in Unity.
- Skilled with Unity particle effects (VFX).
- Version control knowledge.
- Proficient in optimizing art.
- 5+ years' experience in game development.
Pluses:
- Unity scripting and/or coding knowledge to facilitate implementation.
- Unity Shaders / Shader Graph knowledge.
- Mobile game experience.
