Summary
We are looking for an experienced self-motivated Lead Artist who is responsible for managing a team of artists and creating world class gaming products. You will interface daily with Project Managers, Game Designers and Software Developers and work closely with the Art Director to implement the vision of each product.Pay Range
$75,326-$139,891What you'll do
- Work closely with the Art Director, Project Manager, and Game Designer to create unique games
- Develop game concepts, storyboards, and animatics
- Provide creative and technical feedback to the team
- Understand and apply graphics design concepts and how they relate to gaming products
- Track art creation development in Jira, identify problems, and find solutions
- Create, organize, prioritize, and communicate all art tasks to team members
- Maintain graphics pipelines and technical requirements for each game
- Process the breakout and post-production of art assets per game production schedule
- Support game development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Work constructively with teams to raise production values and quality
- Create original still graphics in a variety of original or established styles
- Keep up to date on graphic techniques, trends, styles, etc. in the gaming industry
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in the gaming industry required.
- Requires five plus years of experience with drawing, composition, graphic design, computer graphics, color theory and leading a team of creatives.
- Requires an associate degree and/or vocational certification.
- Experience with Jira or other task tracking software a plus.
- Intimate knowledge of Photoshop, AE and Adobe products
- Illustration and composition skills a must
- Ability to adapt to new art styles based on thematic direction
- Ability to work in teams and with other disciplines
- Be able to lead a team of artists toward the goal of finishing a game on time
- Ability to create art to specification
- Must have the ability to tolerate moderate to occasional high levels of stress, and meet deadlines
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, be team oriented, and work with team members in different time zones
- Excellent organizational abilities and able to prioritize tasks
- Must be detail oriented and adhere to naming conventions and asset delivery protocol
- Able to accept and implement constructive feedback
