Lead Animator

LEAD ANIMATOR As the Lead Animator, you will help bring our games to life through sound and proven animation principles. You will help create high quality animations for our undisclosed IPs that are currently in development. You must channel the personality of the characters that are in the center of our gameplay. We believe strongly in injecting life to our characters as we want our players to deeply identify with them. You will manage the animation team and associated projects. You will also be working closely with the Art Director, Game Designers, and Engineers, to ensure all assets feel and behave as intended.
Responsibilities :
- Communicate effectively, help drive multi discipline alignment, set clear goals, direct next steps and establish techniques
- R&D new techniques and best practices to implement into production pipeline
- Support the Art Director in developing animation style guides and processes
- Influence the development of our animation workflows, tools, and pipelines
- Develop effective animation workflow and pipelines with our outsource partners
- Meet project deadlines without compromising artistic integrity
Qualifications :
- 6+ years experience as a games animator
- Shipped 1 or more mobile or AAA game(s) as a lead on the animation team
- Proficient understanding of Maya and equivalent software
- Exceptional animation portfolio demonstrating expert keyframing skills for combat games
- Has a critical eye for timing, and a deep understanding of human and animal anatomy
- Proficient at organizing tasks and working with internal art teams and outsourcers
- Strong leadership and communication skills, and strong cross-discipline collaboration
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and self motivation
Bonus :
- Strong Scripting Abilities
- Has experience working in proprietary engines
Candidates will be expected to provide their portfolio or demo reel. A demo reel should showcase a variety of walk cycles, and a strong foundation in the principles of animation, including weight, timing, and impact. You may also be asked to complete an art test.
The base annual salary range for this position in the United States is $100,000 - $180,000. The base salary is just one part of the overall compensation package. This base pay range is for the United States only and does not apply to international locations. The range for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
