Lead 3D Environment Artist

Established in 2004, Lakshya Digital is the largest interactive entertainment and game development services studio in South Asia. We have studios located in Gurgaon, Pune, Bengaluru, India, Seattle in the US, as well as London and Tokyo.
Our continued success is fueling the need to expand in the US and we are looking for top-quality talent to become part of our studio in Redmond, WA. As a Lead 3d Environment Artist, you will report to the Art Director and must manage a team to ensure the consistent delivery of top quality environment content and documentation that meets externally and internally created specifications for multiple projects. The Lead Environment Artist must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment, by being highly organized and detail oriented, with exceptional oral and written communication skills. Our Lead Environment Artist must possess relevant technical skills used in a Lead/Senior role on at least one AAA Current Gen console game. Previous experience working with an external art team, or service vendor, is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team in Seattle and with multiple external teams from various locations to find production solutions that uphold the client’s quality expectations and adhere to established technical requirements. Contributing innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of content production.
- Work directly with clients to understand their needs and form a solid working relationship.
- Work with the Project Managers and other leads and artists to develop solid estimates, pipelines, schedules, and production plans.
- Manage and mentor Senior level character artists. Demonstrate, communicate and exemplify clear expectations for quality of work, productivity, communication and professionalism to the team.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience with at least one title shipped in a similar role.
- An in-depth understanding of next-gen game content development processes, tools, pipelines, scene management, limitations, and dependencies.
- Skilled with current tools and technologies; Maya or Max, Mudbox or Zbrush, Photoshop, and Substance Designer/Painter.
- 3D sculpting, modeling, texturing, and material creation skills for creating environments with the proven ability to produce and direct the production of top quality current generation environment/world content in a variety of styles for play on multiple platforms.
- Experience in preproduction and planning of environments such as asset lists, technical specifications, proxy modeling, white box layout, etc.
- Expertise constructing levels using proprietary or licensed game engines. UE4 preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision, and present the work of the team and the project in a professional manner.
- Previous team leadership experience required; having demonstrated the ability to mentor less experienced artists to achieve top quality and consistent results.
- Able to collaborate with the other leads to achieve solutions that work for all teams and projects.
- Positive, solution-oriented individual with a passion for making the highest quality content.
- Physical location in the America’s with ability to work remotely during company core hours.
