Position Summary
The QC Inspector will inspect incoming product to ensure it meets all tolerances, specifications, mechanical properties and passes any required functional testing. The appropriate candidate will work closely with the Supplier Quality Engineers, Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations to report and disposition all non-conforming features and characteristics notated during the inspection process.
Essential Job Functions
- Inspect parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies to mechanical prints and all applicable specifications.
- Perform fit, form or functional testing as required.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
- Able to proficiently use specialized inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, pin gages, and dial indicators.
- Ability to read and interpret material and special process certifications.
- Document all dimensional and functional testing results in the FAIR and the Incoming Inspection report.
- Initiates quality incident reports for FA submissions or AQL samples of incoming lots that fail inspection.
- Understanding of random sampling using the established AQL level of inspection.
- Identify, quarantine and process nonconforming product through the MRB process in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate identified issues found during inspections to engineering, supplier quality and the supply chain as needed.
- Support and participate in Continuous Process Improvement and lean initiatives.

Qualifications
Education
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency. Some college preferred.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years receiving inspection experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and prints.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to be able to generate all required reports.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of precision measurement equipment and inspection tools.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Oracle and Agile preferred.
