The Knowledge Writer position will join the the Knowledge Management Team (KMT) with a client of Keywords Studios. This is a global team with members from all over the world. The KMT is responsible for managing both player-facing materials and the client's internal materials, as well as documenting new information.
The Knowledge Writer’s (KW) role is to create and maintain player-facing articles on our Self Help Portal. These articles aim to inform players about our games and procedures to provide solutions without having to contact Player Support. This information-dense content needs to be simple and concise so that players, especially younger ones, can understand a problem, follow a process, complete a task, or solve an issue.
- Ensuring all published material uses grammatically correct language, that it is fitting with the client's games, it has appropriate structure and has the best flow
- Also ensuring that the most relevant content is available for players
- Removing any irrelevant content
- Updating new content on time
- Keep track of new game features and identify the need to create new Self Help articles before game updates are released
- Providing assistance in upskilling other KMT members in terms of writing skills and English language skills
Requirements
- C2/Fluent level in both spoken and written English
- Clearly structuring and conveying complex information through simple and engaging content
- Writing in a voice and style appropriate to the client's brand
- Showing advanced skills in technical and content writing gained through proven experience
- Documenting instructions in a clear, easy-to-follow manner
- Designing and creating new Self Help articles
- Evaluating and improving the quality of existing articles
- Overseeing the content lifecycle
- Conveying information clearly and accurately to different audiences
- Adept in explaining complex ideas in a way that can be easily understood
- Well organized by maintaining all necessary documentation and reference materials
- Keeping up with ongoing policy discussions and making connections to any material prepared by the KMT
- Following through with tasks until they are updated in our system
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets
- Good knowledge of MS Word/Google Docs
- Experience working with a Knowledge Base
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (highly regarded)
- Capacity to quickly master a wide variety of tools and processes
- Ability to work as part of a global and diverse team
