We seek a motivated and technically skilled Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. Reporting to our Director of IT and Cloud infrastructure, the ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our internal IT systems and infrastructure and assisting co-workers’ IT needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality remote and on-site technical support to internal employees, prioritizing customer service and timely issue resolution
- Administer and troubleshoot servers, network equipment, and cloud-managed on-prem solutions
- Manage user accounts and permissions across Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based identity management systems.
- Oversee conference room setups, including audio-visual equipment and video conferencing solutions
- Manage the lifecycle of Windows, Mac, and iOS devices via MDM platforms, covering deployment, maintenance, and break/fix tasks
- Coordinate the shipping, recovery, and inventory of devices for remote staff
- Procure, manage, and audit apps, SaaS subscriptions, and licenses, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness
- Create and maintain comprehensive system and procedural documentation
- Actively engage in collaborative IT projects and work well in cross-departmental teams
- Monitor system health and security and participate in reactive and proactive support measures
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, including cybersecurity measures
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of professional IT experience, including a focus on Help Desk support and SaaS applications management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience is acceptable
- Ability to be on-site at our downtown Chicago Loop office twice a week, with remote work for the remaining days
- Proficiency in administering Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based identity management solutions
- Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) for Windows, Mac, and iOS devices
- Familiarity with networking principles, particularly cloud-managed on-prem solutions
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and processes
Salary Range
- The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
