Job Description
Ubisoft Milan is looking for a Junior Rigger to be involved in the production of a prestigious triple-A title.
The Junior Rigger will join the Tech Animation team and will collaborate closely with the Animation and Art Team in order to produce high-quality animations.
Responsibilities:
- Design, create and test character rigs;
- Maintain and test animation tools and pipelines;
- Ensure that the final result (rigging/skinning) meets the artistic standards of the project;
- Support the development of the rigging workflow and pipeline;
- Design the documentation for your team;
- Develop and improve the tools, procedures for the streamlining of an efficient animation pipeline;
- Maintaining and pushing quality and look of the characters through scalable solutions with a long-term perspective;
- Management of the rigging performances according to tech budgets.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of rigging in 3DSMAX, Maya, MotionBuilder
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy;
- Knowledge of Python;
- Experience in scripting and debugging modules for rigs;
- Awareness of technical hurdles related to real-time, 3D engines and level editors;
- Experience with Qt, Psyde.
As a bonus:
- Previous experience as character rigger in the videogame industry;
- Skills in one or more of the rigging-related tasks: illustration, modeling or animation;
- Experience in programming/scripting in other languages (C++,C#).
