Junior QA Tester

As a Junior QA Tester, you test all IllFonic games to identify bugs and suggest solutions based on your discovery. We are looking for someone who loves playing video games and enjoys improving the overall gameplay experience. This role requires a high degree of documentation and consumer-level technical experience. Additionally, your attention to detail and communication with the team will have a direct impact on every single game IllFonic releases. This is a full time / hourly position working out of our gorgeous Lakewood, CO office. Responsibilities
- Perform ad-hoc exploratory testing along with detailed testing based on documented test plans
- Clearly document defects within the game software in our bug tracking software (JIRA)
- Regress bugs as they are completed by the development team
- Test new features upon completion and implementation
- Take ownership of your reported issues, push tickets to developers, and review and respond to developer feedback on issues
- Review and maintain playtest feedback sheets for assigned projects
- Work with QA leadership to update previously created test plans, documentation, and other test materials as features/content are updated
- Work with QA leadership to assist with and receive testing assignments for the regular testing responsibilities for sets of features and content for assigned projects
- Learn and maintain processes related to daily build and test case distribution, maintenance and execution
- Take the initiative to identify, prioritize, call-out, and suggest solutions to problems both big and small
- Share your thoughts about how to make the company a better place to work, improve the creative process, and help deliver better games
Requirements
- Experienced video game consumer with a passion for the video game industry
- Exceptional at English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Familiar with Jira, SDK’s as well as documentation software (MS Suite, G Suite)
- Ability to work both as part of a team, and individually as project needs require
- Ability to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities, potentially on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to adapt to both remote and on-site work environments
- Strict use of code names and complete confidentiality of project information for as long as it is required
Bonus
- Previous QA experience, particularly in video games
- Experience with Perforce
- Experience with Unreal Game Sync
- Previous experience working with Unreal Engine 4
- Multiplatform gaming experience
- Strong multiplayer experience, particularly in asymmetric style
- Functional understanding of testing methodologies and common practices
- Working knowledge of multiple, or all, current major gaming platforms
