Role Overview – Junior Data Analyst
The Junior Data Analyst will work in the analytics team on games by SEGA Europe’s mobile studio, HARDlight. As part of the studio’s Live Operations team, you would be responsible for developing queries of game data and producing visualisations to inform and assist the whole studio on the performance of existing and in-development games, with the support and direction of the Game and Data Analyst and the Data Scientist. You would be working closely with all parts of the studio to identify and track both Key Performance Indicators and detailed feature data in order to provide insight into what will deliver business impact and further engage our customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and expanding existing analytics queries and dashboards
- Identifying areas for development in existing and future games, including optimising retention and monetisation
- Working internally with Design and Live Ops teams to define and analyse game metrics in order to understand the behaviour of our players
- Working with other SEGA departments to make use of a variety of data sources in order to constantly improve game experience for our players
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Confident in data handling, statistical and visualisation tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
- Strong communication skills both in a technical and non-technical context
- Self-motivation and good organisational skills
- Passion about both data and games
- Good problem solving – able to think critically and holistically about data
- Creativity and interest in looking beyond the immediately available data
- Able to provide actionable insights based on the results of data analysis
Desired:
- Interest or experience in the games industry, ideally on free to play/paymium games
- Ability to work with a full data pipeline, from defining a schema in initial design through to querying, visualisation and modelling the gathered data
- Experience with cloud technology such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of industry specific KPIs
