The role - Junior Data Analyst
You will help us to continue to make best use of the huge amount of player data we have, to improve our games and to help our teams make better decisions. With more than 2 million data points collected every minute, there’s a vast amount of data to play with!
As part of the data team, you will work together to explore data, extract insights and systematically measure the performance of changes to our games through A/B tests and modelling. You will help our game designers and game teams optimise their games through; data analysis, visualisation and by building a strong understanding of player behaviour.
The data team
The team is growing, but currently it is made up of 6 team members. There are 3 data engineers and 3 data analysts.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing your data skill set within an experienced team of passionate analysts!
- Working with fellow analysts to help support our product teams in setting up; in-game tracking, identifying tracking issues and leveraging tracking data analytics to provide insights.
- Responding to simple data requests or queries in SQL.
- Acting as the liaison between product, game developers and data engineers to ensure our data is precisely specified, understood and consistent.
- Developing your experience in building dashboards and reporting in Tableau.
- Identifying errors and suggesting solutions to issues to ensure delivery of accurate metrics related to retention, monetization and user acquisition.
- Ensuring we continue to collect and document appropriate data.
- Learning how to perform hands-on research, data exploration and analysis to identify strategies to improve engagement, retention and monetization.
- Working in a fast-paced, team driven environment.
Your skills/experience
- You have a good understanding of SQL and you are keen to develop this knowledge further
- You have an analytical mindset and a can-do attitude!
- You are passionate about data quality and you enjoy deep quantitative analysis
- You have an understanding of statistical analysis
- You have an excellent sense of organization and great autonomy, you enjoy both individual and team work
- An undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject (such as; Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Economics, Psychology) or other technical fields OR up to 2 years of experience in an analytical role
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Proficiency in relevant scripting language(s), e.g. Python/R
- True passion for understanding users social gaming behavior and tolerance for ambiguity
- Curious – You are driven to discover underlying explanations of things, just for fun!
- You might enjoy communicating your findings with great data visualisation tools - e.g. Tableau/Looker/PowerBI
- You have an interest in gaming!
