Junior Accountant

As a Junior Accountant, you will join East Side Games as an expert in numbers, loving to dig deeper into what they mean. You have a good understanding of basic accounting principles and are looking to excel (pun intended!) in this field. Spreadsheets are your best friend, and most importantly, you love games! We’re a remote-first studio and encourage all applications across Canada.

WHAT YOU MIGHT DO IN YOUR DAY TO DAY:

• Maintaining accounts payable and receivable for our major studios, ensuring we are current and up to date
• Reconciliation of general ledger (GL) accounts, preparing and entering GL entries and maintaining records of those accounts
• Weekly bank reconciliations in Quickbooks Online for our studio accounts
• Month end advertising revenue reporting from our vendors
• Prepare timely and accurate corporate credit card reconciliations
• Look for opportunities to improve and scale current processes
• Assist the Controller with month-end and ad-hoc reporting as needed

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Completed an Accounting program such as a Diploma/Degree/CPA or equivalent
• Growth oriented mindset
• Excellent analytical skills
• Eagerness to learn new tools and look for new solutions in process improvement
• Strong in Microsoft Excel and Windows-based software
• Experience with QuickBooks is an advantage
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Resourceful. Someone who can work independently as well as collaboratively
