Storm8 is looking for a world class Junior 3D Artist to help us develop the next generation of mobile games! The Junior 3D Artist will show a diverse portfolio of recent samples that demonstrate high artistic aptitude modeling characters, props and environments, as well as competency with lighting, texture maps and shaders. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work within a highly iterative process as part of a small team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of art creation tools for mobile, including Maya and Adobe’s Creative Suite (Unity knowledge is a plus). Candidate will work closely with Art Director and project leads to evangelize and drive the artistic vision of the game.

Responsibilities:

• Work with a high volume of art assets in an art production environment
• Assist the art team with the execution and delivery of final art production assets
• Stay current with industry trends and technical advancements used in mobile game development
• Help guide other artists with their skills and abilities through peer feedback
• Continuously learn and explore the pipeline of game development

Qualifications:

• BA degree in fine arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• UV and texturing abilities
• Fast learner with attention to detail
• Deep understanding of core artistic principles including color, composition, structure and perspective
• A strong portfolio representing both 2D and 3D artwork that displays proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya (or equivalent 3D package)
• Unity knowledge is a plus
• Excellent communication and team skills
• Have a passion for video games and what’s trending in mobile
