Jr. Visual Designer, Web - All Brands (AppLovin)

About You:

• You are detail-oriented—someone who has a foundational understanding of typography, hierarchy, and UX/UI with a specific interest to focus on the UI/visual side of projects.
• You are someone who values clean design aesthetic, sketching/generating ideas to solve problems, building visual systems (large or small), and working with a team of other creatives to bring the larger vision to life.
• You are a self-starter, optimistic, creative, willing to be flexible, and can work both individually and as a part of a growing and talented team.
• You find joy in solving UX/UI problems, making things more usable and aesthetically pleasing on every level.
• You have great written and verbal communication skills—you can be clear and down to earth.
• You are a learner and interested in understanding how the business works in a way to help you translate our partner’s business and marketing goals into clear, executable recommendations.
• You take feedback well (and not personally) in a way that allows for collaboration and elevation.
• You are confident in presenting and/or growing your presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the web designers, web devs, and brand designers to concept and sketch solutions for our web properties, landing pages, email/newsletters, and other digital marketing needs.
• Support lead designer on key aspects of projects, which may include research, designing UI library elements, and designing specific modules/components.
• Create wireframes and story/mood-boards to establish a foundation for visual design ideas.
• Collaborate with our web developers to oversee the implementation of designs.
• Work closely with marketing leads, project managers, and copywriters to ensure on-brand execution and on-time deliverables.
• Utilize Asana as the primary tool for internal communication, status updates, delivery of files, and project management.
• Utilize collaborative communication tools like Slack, Miro, Figma, Loom, and others to work closely with team members across projects and time zones
• Presents in written or verbal form to stakeholders and partners.
• Continued research into UI trends and current design strategies and technology

Basic Qualifications:

• A thoughtfully presented portfolio, showing the ability to think conceptually and strategically
• Hands-on experience creating prototypes, design system/UI library, iconography, etc.
• BA/BS degree in graphic design, media arts, illustration, animation, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 0-1 years of professional digital design experience, with an emphasis on web design.
• Mastery of basic design principles such as typography, composition, scale, color theory, visual weight, etc.
• Working knowledge of responsive design and grid principles.
• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.
• Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and G-Suite business tools.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
