The Marketing Technology team works alongside the publishing label’s Marketing, Community and PR teams (2K, Rockstar Games, Zynga, & Private Division), managing and supporting the underlying technology used for paid, owned, and earned marketing activity.
The purpose of this role is to enable and empower these teams to do what they do best – produce outstanding content. This means helping streamline their processes, alleviate bottlenecks, and enable technology solutions that would allow them to engage with new & existing players more effectively.
Working as part of the MarTech team, the Jr. Marketing Technology Product Manager must have a broad range of skills. These core responsibilities include the ability to manage an entire technology life cycle, and interpreting business needs through their integration into productized solutions. This role requires understanding of paid media marketing platforms, and experience in managing projects; acting as the conduit between business leads and vendors.We adopt a fast-paced and agile approach, with a strong focus on delivering and enabling change within a creative and rapidly changing environment. It’s demanding, but incredibly rewarding as you can directly see the results from your efforts as they get applied into practice by each team, whilst working with cutting edge technology and marketing strategies.
A successful MTPM will-
- Within the first 90 days: Become acquainted with the MarTech solutions currently utilized by each of our labels and their role within each team’s paid media strategy. In addition, they will develop an understanding of our project workflow in relation to supporting existing/upcoming products.
- Within 180 days: Take responsibility for the daily operation (account support, troubleshooting, and optimizations) of various technology solutions in our portfolio and develop a product roadmap for capability improvements whilst increasing adoption within each supported marketing team.
Essential Functions
- Work with business leads and Senior Management to deliver advertising technology solutions that improve our company’s ability to reach audiences and measure advertising campaigns while simultaneously aligning with the vision and strategy of the Marketing, Community and PR teams.
- Partner with Senior Management to design our product roadmap, prioritizing features and solutions according to market value and business needs
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our data onboarding and media activation solutions ensuring the secure transfer of our customer data across each labels supported partners
- Maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and generally, ensure our technology solutions are up-to-date and appropriately adopted across each team.
- Manage monthly vendor invoicing and work with each labels accounting department to ensure any billing changes/disparities are properly addressed
- Outline capabilities and benefits of each of our technology solutions and ensure they are properly communicated to all business partners.
- Promote our technology solution capabilities and design use cases that empower business users to achieve more with existing tools.
- Stay current with emerging advertising technologies and marketing strategies to elevate our overall capabilities, while at the same time planning solutions that go beyond what is currently known or solved for.
- Research, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors that fit identified product requirements
- With each new product iteration (features, enhancements, or new solutions altogether), evaluate benefit to the business teams, prioritize and promote internally
- Create and maintain documentation for each supported technology solution
Desired Skills and Experience
- Prior product management experience supporting marketing teams – capabilities and development focus
- Running multiple projects and roadmaps concurrently
- Experience working with Marketing, PR, Customer Service, Analytics, and Community functions, KPI’s, terms etc. (Must be able to converse and understand the teams needs with minimal education)
- Proven ability to implement enterprise-level technology solutions including evidence of adoption and/or ROI
- Foundational awareness of:
- Paid media targeting and measurement strategies (online identifiers, DSPs, ad networks, ad servers, etc)
- Business intelligence, visualization, data structures
- Platform and data security/privacy laws
- Must be able to establish and develop strong relationships (in-person/long distance) with demanding business and project stakeholders to ensure that business goals are met
- Experience in working with highly technical business partners identifying problem areas, bottlenecks, and resolving with scalable solutions
- Provide leadership and guidance for business leads and power users (training/presenting)
- Interpret business needs to solution requirements; manage scope, acceptance criteria, definition of done, etc.; it is vital to go above the minimum project requirements, identifying critical needs and possible solutions before they may even be known, and have the grace to introduce and secure adoption of related ideas and plans.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills spanning business and technical audiences
Advantageous experience
- Practical experience with Data Onboarding platforms (LiveRamp)
- Practical experience with Digital Paid Media solutions (Social, Display, Search, Video)
- Practical experience with DMP’s or CDP’s
- Practical experience with web analytics/tracking technology
- Experience in the advertising industry (agency/media publisher)
