Activision Central Tech (CT) works to support our development studios and their titles. Comprised of seven main teams, we have many specialties including big data, privacy and security, motion capture and animation pipeline technologies, graphics, build and infrastructure for studio development and data centers, optimization, systems programming, and online services including matchmaking and networking. CT is distributed globally with offices across the U.S., and in Canada, England, Ireland and Japan.

Most of our teams are comprised of both engineering and research talent, allowing us to always have an eye on the future. Our dedicated engineers help with title development and provide valuable knowledge sharing between studios while our researchers are action-oriented and keep a strong connection with the needs of the game studios.

Your Mission

Activision Central Tech is seeking dedicated programmers starting their careers to join the Central Tech Rotational Program (CTRP), a 2-year rotational engineering program that provides a breadth of skills within online game networking and mobile games. This is a rare West Coast (hybrid) opportunity to accelerate your career by developing groundbreaking games technology, learning the next-gen consoles inside and out, and to working on leading AAA online titles with top developers like Sledgehammer, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and Raven Software.

Please note, the start dates for this program will be in February 2023 and June 2023.

Mission Report

• Three 8 month rotations
• Rotations mapped to product launches/updates, business needs, and employee interest
• Training and development opportunities, including mentorship
• Opportunity to find your fit and gain exposure to multiple Activision teams by rotating through the following functions:
  • Security/Threat Intelligence
  • Multiplayer Infrastructure Management
  • Game Title Support
  • Online Tools
  • Call of Duty Mobile

Mission Accomplished

Upon completion of the program, participants will be hired into a role within one of our Activision studios or teams based on employee interest and business need.

Player Profile

You’ll have in your “go bag”

• A degree is not required but if you have a Bachelor or Master’s degree attachment, a Loadout in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent program doesn’t hurt
• At minimum, you should have completed basic training in C++ (there will be a test)
• Experience with network programming (TCP, UDP, security, NAT, etc.), client/server architecture, database development experience
• Sometimes you have to decode to get through some comms. If you know LUA, Python or Java you can level the game

The Assignment

• Own, operate and support the services and features you develop
• Implementing features deep within game-specific engines
• Address online and multiplayer feature issues as needed
• Excited and motivated to learn new areas of development
