Internship R&D Developer Assistant (F/M/NB) – Neural Implicit Representation for Geometry Processing

Job Description

Neural implicit representation has gained lots of attention over the past two years [1]. While current neural representation has proven to be useful for rendering of 3D scenes [2, 3] they fail to acutely reconstruct the underlying geometry. More recently some effort is being given to the modeling and representation of geometry with neural networks [4, 5]. This will broaden the use of neural representation beyond rendering and thus make them more appealing in a video game context.

In this internship, we aim to explore methods that can transform explicit 3D worlds into a neural implicit representation and study their utility in a video game context (navigation, collision, AI, …)

Qualifications

You are a last year student of an engineering school or a university research master;

You have solid knowledge in mathematics and computer science

You have skills in machine learning, computer graphics and geometry processing, and have mobilized them using C++ and Pytorch

Your level of English allows you to work in an international team and to communicate easily with non-French speakers.
