Intern Game Programmer

We’re seeking a keen and motivated Intern Game Programmer to join the ranks of our games team. The ideal candidate would be an active team player, with a basic understanding in coding and good problem-solving skills, and a drive to learn. At Streamline Studios, you will enjoy an opportunity to shape the technologies and features of our games while working with other talented Programmers, Designers and Artists in a fun and dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Writing clear, functional, documented and maintainable code according to the game design documentation, adhering to programming standards set

• Under limited supervision of the Lead Game Programmer and Senior Programmer, the programmer is responsible for implementing directed tasks to the coding standards and quality level of Streamline Games, ensuring the code is free of defects and effective.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and the rest of the team on design concepts and current tasks.
• Quickly produce high-quality source code and documentation.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently taking bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, other comparable degree area, or comparable experience
• Good Proficiency in C++/C#
• Working understanding of object-oriented development
• Good verbal and written communications skills (English), being able to understand technical solutions.

• Enjoys playing and making games
• Drive to learn and experience this field.
• Basic understanding of source control SVN, Perforce, GIT
• Familiar with game programming patterns
  
  

Additional skills:

• Ability to demonstrate a personal project (app or game)
• Knowledge of the overall game development pipeline
• Experience working with Unreal Engine 4
• Familiarity or experience with agile software development practices (i.e. SCRUM)
