The Nitty Gritty
Big Viking Games is on the hunt for a talented Intermediate Visual Designer to join the team! Reporting to the Senior Visual Designer and Art Director, we’re looking for someone who is able to create a wide range of visual marketing material for our flagship games, YoWorld and FishWorld. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for designs and come equipped with a good foundation and technical skill set for design principles and producing eye-catching marketing material. This position will be offered remotely in Canada.

The Duties:
- Create engaging visual designs for product-related marketing campaigns including images, animated motion graphics, and other online advertising media units
- Work as a member of the Live Content Marketing Team to understand what promos and marketing material perform better, based on data analytics and team insights
- Brainstorm and conceptualize visual marketing themes - driving colour, typography etc., for upcoming releases
- Create video assets for marketing trailers, community videos, and streaming as needed
- Work closely with our content creators to understand the visual design involved to promote and market within the product style
The Requirements:
The Must Haves
- 3+ years of experience creating marketing material for the social/mobile gaming space
- A B.A. or B.F.A in graphic design, multimedia, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Animate, Illustrator, InDesign)
- A proven track record of creating appealing, high-quality marketing material
- Basic working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Strong background in multiple graphic 2D disciplines
- Solid understanding of graphic design principles, colour theory, typography, and layout
- Knowledge of the game development process
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal correspondence, being able to effectively convey information in a variety of settings such as scrums and presentations
- Task driven, self-motivated, and proactive
