Beamdog, the company behind the Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Editions, is looking for a UX Designer to join our fast growing team working on exciting new projects!
Reporting to the Project Director, the UX Designer is responsible for clarifying gameplay in regards to UX/ UI.
The UX Designer will act as an intermediator to production, engineering and art teams to create user-centered intuitive gameplay experiences that will delight our fans.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and communicate player needs, goals, and behaviors.
- Solve complex design problems using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
- Rapidly iterate on concepts, articulate ideas to the team.
- Engineer UX solutions across a wide range of devices
- Incorporate emerging user testing data into designs
- Minimize player pain points, and elevate UX/UI in our products
- Identify and troubleshoot UX issues as they arise
- Research and analyze competitive products and offer critique on them.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years’ UX Game design experience
- Experience creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, visual designs, and mobile prototypes as well as clear documentation.
- Ability to articulate UX design decisions to non-designers
- Must be proficient In adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
