Tangent Animation is the vision of Animation and Film Production industry professionals, with combined experience that encompasses CG Animation, Live Action Film Production, Visual Effects, and Software Development. Tangent Animation strives to find solid team players that thrive on collaboration and community commitment to build open source capabilities. Tangent Animation is currently recruiting for experienced Intermediate Designer to work collaboratively with our studio team.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
- Create high quality concepts, illustrations, and designs of characters, props and special decor elements;
- Design environmental studies, atmospheric elements and screen overlays (paintovers);
- Plans concept by studying information and materials.
- Take account of technical constraints and limitations to propose realistic concepts;
- Proficient at creating drawings to serve as reference/foundation for 3D modelers, i.e. turn-arounds, orthographic renders, material guides, etc.;
- Create solid illustrations and renders of elements to serve as guides to 3D Artists;
- Collaborate and iterate with a passionate in-house team of artists and technical artists.
- Follow the existing art style and assist in asset creation, ensuring concept art meets technical and visual quality standards;
- Participate in production and art team meetings, brainstorming, art reviews, critiques;
- Keep up to date on the latest industry standard tools, workflows, and techniques;
- Deliver artwork and elements within deadlines set by production.
- Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
- Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
- Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; and purchasing from vendors.
- Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
- Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
EXTRAS:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of a broad mix of character related disciplines such as modeling, texturing, shading, rigging & binding, animation, and blend shapes.
- Interprets 2D reference material into 3D textured and surfaced models
