As a member of the Custom Infrastructure IT team, you will be responsible for operating and contributing to the improvement of sophisticated PlayStation Studios systems engineering needs in a fast paced, challenging environment. This role will entail operational and project-based work across Studio IT departments, as well as global PlayStation Studios business units in SIE and Sony operating companies.
Core Responsibilities
- With minimal guidance, contribute to the support, design and improvement of data center and AWS systems infrastructures
- Actively participate in engineering efforts that help streamline studio user experiences and efficiency. This will include working with developers and end-users directly as needed
- Leverage systems tools to identify and mitigate anomalies
- Analyze application and systems data to improve sub-optimal behaviors
- Engineer and use automation tools and processes to proactively supervise the health of production systems and respond to events
- Participate in developing policies, procedures and technical reports associated with operating and maintaining infrastructures
- Guide and assist junior IT professionals with service and topology implementations
- Lead and assist peers in the implementation of new topologies and services
- Collaborate with our Information Security team on multi-functional initiatives and vital investigations
- Some traveling may be required
Required Skills
- Five + years of dynamic experience supporting enterprise environments including cloud
- Progressive understanding of datacenter, cloud and live production standard methodologies and experience working in live high availability customer facing production environments
- Ability to lead medium complexity projects with multiple team members and collaborators
- Author and maintain documentation of systems and processes
- Ability to structure code as a product in a manner that anticipates the type of scale and maintenance required for scopes of work
Desirable Experience
- Proficient with modern systems OS platforms (Linux, Windows, etc.)
- Experience with Perforce systems engineering and administration
- Enterprise storage and filesystem administration experience (NetApp, S3, CIFS, SMB, etc.)
- Proficient with code languages and automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
- Ability to design, upgrade, and maintain platform services across on-premises and cloud-based providers
- Experience in leading technical deployment aspects of a digital and hybrid & remote workplace transformation
- Experience working with global teams
- Experience with networking principles as they relate systems and code
- Not required, but if you speak Japanese, it is a plus!

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$105,800 — $158,600 USD
