Overview of the Role
As the Indonesian Localization Specialist, you will help us provide our products to users for the Indonesian market. You will work with multiple teams on several types of projects to offer our users a complete immersive localized experience that will be culturally relevant. You will oversee the language quality from end to end – from early localization, to localization QA, to developing glossaries and style guides for localization standards. As a user-generated content platform, we also use a Text Filter to ensure that Roblox is a safe place for all ages to create, socialize, and share. You will collaborate with our engineers to train our Text Filter so that it is culturally relevant for our Indonesian speaking users. You will report to Head of Localization.
You Are:
- Experienced: Localization experience in the software/internet industry on the client side. This means you have a great understanding of localization and internationalization issues and familiarity with localization processes
- Education: In Translation, Linguistics - BA. or equivalent
- Native fluency in Indonesian: Excellent language skills in both Indonesian and English, and a solid knowledge of Indonesian culture, pop culture and customs
- LQA experience: Familiarity with bug reporting process and software
- Versatile: Detail-oriented, quality-focused and understands process changes.
- Knowledgeable: Understanding of gaming industry, gaming platforms and Social platforms trends in the US and target territory
You Will:
- Provide high-quality Indonesian translations for our product, marketing, and others
- Create the rules for the Thai Text Filter and maintain it over time
- Create translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
- Work with product & engineering teams to provide Indonesian Linguistic and Localization QA for our product
- Collaborate with external localization vendors to improve the language quality
- Uncover, evaluate, and fix linguistic and localization issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Certification in Localization or translation
- 3+ years experience working in localization field on the client side
- Experience working with CAT, TMS and MT systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in translation
- 5+ years experience in localization including both translation and LQA
- 1+ years experience working with Text filtering systems
- Perform market analysis to guide decisions for a given territory
