About the Role
As Systems Engineer - Identity Platform, you will help provide high-quality identity and access services and infrastructure to Twitch employees. You will work cross-functionally with every business unit to provide identity solutions for a wide variety of business applications. We are looking for a comprehensive understanding of the identity space and strong systems engineering skills - we use AWS, Terraform, and Ansible to deploy our identity infrastructure and SSO configurations. You will work with both our Systems Engineering team to build reliable scalable infrastructure for our identity platform, and internal application owners to onboard their applications to our SSO platform. You will report to the Director of Corporate Engineering.
You Will:
- Build first-class AWS infrastructure to support our Identity platform, using infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools
- Automate the onboarding of applications to our identity platform, and provide clear runbooks for our users to follow
- Help to develop strategic road maps for the Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems and program.
- Work directly with our internal customers and business owners on the integration requirements for their applications
- Lead the team in maintaining and assessing operational requirements and service issues for improvement opportunities.
- Be available on an on-call basis to respond to emergent issues arising during non-business hours and provide support and response
You Have:
- BS in Computer Science, IT, Business or equivalent work or educational experience
- 3+ years of experience building highly-available AWS infrastructure, including IAM, EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, Cognito, and CloudWatch
- Experience working with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tooling such as Terraform, CDK, and Ansible
- Strong operational knowledge of single sign-on platforms and tooling, such as Okta and PingFederate
- Demonstrated understanding of modern Identity & Access Management concepts and best practices, including SAML and OIDC
- Experience working with identity stores such as LDAP and Active Directory
- Excellent ability to present and explain technical information in an easy-to-understand way

- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or Ruby
- Experience building and testing user-facing projects with both user behavior and product design in mind
- Experience working with security teams to build secure solutions from the design-phase
