The position of IT Systems Engineer involves building and maintaining systems within Build A Rocket Boy’s IT infrastructure. You will be critical to the Studio’s success as we expand the backend infrastructure. The role calls for a highly capable IT generalist, who has broad technical proficiency across various disciplines such as networking, storage, security and cloud.
Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Systems Engineer will apply their skills and experience to deliver best in class service and support for our highly specialised user base.
Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all levels of IT equipment associated with various teams throughout Build A Rocket Boy.
- Work with all aspects of IT infrastructure, applying your technical skills and experience to deliver on projects.
- Troubleshoot, fix and maintain systems, applying best practice and methodologies to installation, migration and configuration processes.
- Act in an escalation capacity for both end-user and engineering support issues.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues onsite and in other sites on a regular basis, including occasional travel.
Skills
- Advanced understanding of and experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory, Office 365
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Network Administration (Cisco, Dell, HPE).
- Virtualisation Experience (VMware vSphere 6+)
- Understand of SAN Storage Technology
- Firewall administration and security best practices
- Version control system administration (Perforce) is desirable.
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) are desirable.
- Experience with backup and DR technologies (Veeam) is a plus.
- Exposure to the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
- Database administration (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
