The SIE Studio IT team is seeking a highly skilled IT Engineer II with strong expertise in AWS cloud engineering and administration. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in solving intricate problems, engineering resilient AWS solutions, and providing support for high-performance production environments!
You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting innovative technology solutions across our studio and datacenter operations, global partner integrations, and customer-facing production systems Collaborating with skilled IT engineers, your focus will be on continuously refining and improving our technology infrastructure, ensuring PlayStation Studios remains at the forefront of the entertainment industry.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support internal development and production environments.
- Collaborate with team members to fix complicated issues and work closely with support teams on critical issues.
- Contribute to ongoing training initiatives for the IT Support team and cross-training within the IT Engineering team.
- Lead research, selection, planning, and implementation of new technologies to scale applications and meet business and customer needs.
- Develop tools and scripts, primarily using Ansible, to automate routine maintenance tasks.
- Plan and implement significant architectural changes to improve infrastructure.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT Engineering with a focus on AWS cloud administration.
- Proven experience in managing and deploying cloud infrastructure in a production environment.
- Proven capability to lead and complete projects, collaborating effectively across teams.
- Possess at least one relevant cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
Desired Experience & Attributes:
- Extensive experience in AWS administration and configuration, including Organizations, IAM, SSO, AWS Networking, and EC2.
- Proficient with cloud architecture principles, networking concepts, and security best practices.
- Proficiency in writing Terraform/Tofu scripts for to automate provisioning and management of infrastructure.
- Proven experience with configuration and automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Salt, etc).
- Deep understanding of core Internet protocols and services (e.g., IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, SMB, NFS, syslog).
- Familiarity with datacenter and live production standard methodologies, including experience in high availability customer-facing production environments.
- Proficiency in Automation Administration at scale, including package and source management, performance tuning, and fixing issues.
- Experience working with outsourced providers and managing service delivery expectations.
- May require occasional travel to other company offices (<10%)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with SDLC, CI/CD, Git workflows.
- Knowledge of advanced networking concepts with hands-on experience in cloud networking services like VPC/Vnet, VPN, and Load Balancing.
- Background in information security.
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$126,300 — $189,500 USD
