Overview
Alpha Dog Games is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our team in Nova Scotia. This position will have an opportunity to work closely with our global system administrators, assist with the management of various operating systems and provide strong customer services to users.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to end users by phone, email, and in person in a friendly, professional manner
- Assist global system administrators to manage day-to-day operation of physical and virtual servers, network operating systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and application software including monitoring file servers for performance issues
- Take ownership and monitor support requests to ensure a timely resolution
- Deploy, configure, and support personal computers, laptops, and network appliances
- Identify, research, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Set up, configure, and support peripheral equipment such as TVs, printers, and game consoles
- Install, configure, and support Windows operating systems and applications such as Microsoft Office, 3ds Max, and Photoshop
- Assist with user account creation, modification, and termination across multiple applications such as Active Directory, Azure AD and Exchange
- Review, maintain and revise technical documentation and knowledge base
- Under direction, place service calls to providers during outages or intermittent problems; perform troubleshooting and remedies under direction of WAN administrator
- Consider best security practices throughout all aspects of the infrastructure
- Work with vendors and consultants to resolve issues when needed
- Provide end user training for any newly deployed technologies
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of corporate IT experience
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange and other mission critical enterprise level systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows 10 OS, PC hardware support, Antivirus Software (Windows Defender), Imaging (SCCM)
- General understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Remote Desktop Services
- Basic understanding of firewalls, switches and other networking technologies Interested in and able to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with privileged information
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a constantly evolving and demanding environment
