IT Security Manager

IT Security Manager, reporting to the IT Director, is a strategic role in the IT department.
This position involves managing our IT Security and managing the risks to our environments that the business operates on. The IT Security Manager will not only be a great technical force in their field but be a motivator, be organised and capable of communicating the security position and the requirements to the business. The successful candidate can expect to keep their skills up to date across the IT security landscape to ensure high standards of security and adherence to emerging threats and standards.
You will have previously managed security threats to business and will understand the requirements for the role, the tools required, the standards that need to be in place and the ability to execute on them. You will need to be a great team player and will rely on assistance from the other teams. The role will involve responding to security concerns from the business and promote and enforce the effective use of security controls. You will be the critical in organising threat and vulnerability assessments, security testing and will be working with 3 rd party service providers to keep the business secure.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT Security including assessments, recommendations and threat management.
- Manage third party interaction with outsourced security analysts.
- Research solutions and design robust security to support the business as we scale.
- Manage escalation of issues and assist in resolution.
- Develop and maintain a robust security policy
- Develop and maintain security incident escalation procedures in line with best practice.
- Support the wider IT teams as needed.
- Document, advise, maintain and improve wider IT and platform security procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to work full-time.
- Proven understanding of IT infrastructure, end user and cloud technology.
- Proven ability to manage security threats, assess and resolve and secure.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English (both written and spoken).
- Ability to be clear about objectives and targets and consistent in approach
- Ability to manage project delivery with other teams calmly and effectively.
- Experienced and lead remediation strategies.
- Ability to understand risk exposure based on system design and not only patching.
- Experience security Windows and Linux.
- Experience working with storage technology (SAN and replication).
- Experience securing cloud infrastructure (Office 365, Azure and AWS).
- Flexibility to work out of hours to meet the operational needs of the business.
