Gearbox is looking for a determined and efficient IT Project Manager to join our team. This candidate is a problem solver. Thorny problems are your specialty, and you'll be both creative and persistent in your efforts to solve them. You'll work well with others. Peers, managers, teams, you name it--people will recognize you as someone who gets things done, and they'll love to work with you. You're a detail person. It will be second nature to manage projects via issue tracking and documentation tools (Jira and Confluence in this case). Goals are your friend, both the ones you set for yourself and the ones communicated to the team. You'll connect your work to those goals, and get others to do the same. You're a communicator. You'll know who to talk to, about what, and when. You're a "do whatever it takes" kind of person.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects of all sizes, often simultaneously, each with their own schedule, teams, and requirements
  • Work closely with IT personnel on obtaining status updates and driving progress, making sure to raise flags as projects are blocked or otherwise stalled
  • Encourage multi-department involvement, reaching outside IT to determine requirements and achieve buy-in from the relevant Development and Publishing teams
  • Provide schedules with achievable milestones
  • Conduct sprint meetings and project post-mortems
  • Ensure project documentation is accurately maintained per standards you help create and enforce
  • What you might work on:
    • Creating a repeatable process for managing all projects, a process so good the team easily accepts it as their new workflow
    • Wrangling leads and teams, coordinating meetings and making sure information is flowing in both directions, so goals, blockers, and any challenges are understood by all
    • Roadmaps for the team that include IT goals, studio goals, project goals, etc
    • A variety of efforts to increase IT's transparency, thoroughness, and ability to receive and process the studio's feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years experience in project management or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of schedules and project dependencies
  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships at all levels
  • Passion for entertainment and/or games

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience working with agile development practices
  • Experience with Jira or Confluence
  • PMP/ Scrum/Six Sigma or other relevant certification
