IT Manager
It’s an incredibly exciting time here at Space Ape Games. We have projects at all stages of the development cycle, along with a fast paced environment that promotes genuine autonomy. We launched our exciting new music game, Beatstar, just over one year ago, and have some super creative projects that we’re working on behind the scenes! Check out our artstation to get a glimpse of the other genres we’ve been working on.
We are looking to recruit a passionate, hands-on IT Manager to join us in the challenge of supporting, maintaining and improving the IT infrastructure at Space Ape. Itʼs an important role: you’ll be working on the things that enable our teams to make great games. From keeping our laptop fleet healthy to managing our audio-visual gear, from keeping our office network secure to optimising our cloud tools; it’s all vital to the smooth running of the studio. You won’t be stuck just working on mundane problems and managing tickets, you’ll be helping plan our future and delivering cutting-edge new tech.
Along the way, you’ll learn how we secure and manage a growing fleet of devices using tools like AirWatch, Okta and Crowdstrike. You’ll see how we monitor, maintain and secure our local networks and VPNs with our Palo Alto firewalls and our monitoring platform, LogicMonitor. You’ll also see how a small studio’s IT team can punch above its weight by using the best cloud products combined with bespoke tooling in AWS. Eventually, you’ll learn what changes we can make to improve our service to teams and bring fresh ideas for how we can make things better; for instance, rolling out new tools, services and security features.
Responsibilities
- Managing and owning the studio’s IT infrastructure from end to end
- Mentoring and managing a small IT Team
- Delivery of support to our users via Slack, Zoom and face-to-face
- Owning management of our fleet of macOS, Windows, iOS and Android devices

- Maintaining and improving the security and performance of our networks
- Ensuring our audio-visual equipment is ready and reliable for meetings and events
- Communication to the studio through documentation and training

- Hands-on, technical experience working within an IT team

- Experience with operating SaaS tools and services
- Great communication skills with the ability to explain problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical users
- An empathy and understanding of how technology impacts the lives of its users
- A passion for all things tech and a desire to learn new things
We're looking for passionate, productive, team-players who are self-starters. But we know that everyone's different and so, even if you don't have everything we write about here, it doesn't mean we don't want to talk. Let us know what excites you about Space Ape and let's see!
