What You'll Do
Epic’s fast-growing IT Engineering team is looking for a Platform Engineering Manager/Lead to lead a global team of engineers. The focus will be leading our Infrastructure Platform team to build services used by the company. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide services that enhance the user experience for all of Epic.
In this role, you will
- Lead a team of 8-12 engineers and supporting staff across the globe
- Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts
- Lead the team's innovation efforts, bring in new ideas and technologies
- Help with design and code reviews. Ensure high programming standards by writing unit and functional tests
What we're looking for
- You must be willing to continuously learn new things and apply those learnings, as we are constantly exploring new tools and technologies, and looking for new and better ways of working at Epic.
- Track record of building and running high-performance teams
- Experience leading a team of engineers with a focus on cross functional collaboration in and out of IT
- Provide leadership and guidance in the design review process, presiding over formal design reviews (Infrastructure Tools and Tech)
- Leading highly technical staff through mentoring and motivation techniques
- Contribute and help leading the vision and multi-year roadmap for IT Platform Infrastructure at Epic.
- Tracking and measuring staff performance
- Hire, develop, retain talents by continuously pushing subject matter expertise, promoting inclusivity, leading by example, and mindfulness
- Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to push our capabilities forward and solve tomorrow’s problems, not just today’s
Nice To Have Skills
- 3+ years Leadership experience
- Experience managing or supervising mid-sized teams of 5+ senior engineers
- 8+ years of senior engineer level experience in administering enterprise infrastructures in large enterprises
- Ability to manage and coordinate projects
- Analytical thinking, ability to problem solve
- Experience with media systems a huge advantage
