Who We Are
At Level Ex, we advance the practice of medicine through play - using technology and design from the consumer games industry to accelerate the adoption of new skills and techniques in healthcare. Level Ex is the first Medical Games Studio - making video games for doctors. We are in the business of genre creation - what we are doing has never been achieved before. Our People team therefore has the unique challenge of pulling in the best elements from game development and healthcare culture to create the ideal work environment for the talent we want to attract. We're looking for an HR Intern (3-month contract) to help us make Level Ex the best place our employees have ever worked, as well as the place they’ve done their best work, ever.
Note: $16/hour · 3 month contract · 10-20 hrs/week · availability from 9am-5pm Central Time required
Who You Are
Someone interested in learning more about careers in HR and Recruiting, because we’ve got projects that will introduce you to the areas of talent development, performance management, talent acquisition, employer branding, HR systems management, dashboards, reporting and more. You must be reliable; an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organizational skills. You also must be someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects with high attention-to-detail and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Ultimately, you will gain HR experience at a fast-paced and growing company by supporting and improving employee experiences across the employee lifecycle.
What You'll Do
You will play an active role as part of the People Team, working on some or all of the following:
- Use our ATS (Applicant Tracking System, Greenhouse) and HRIS (Human Resources Information System, Rippling) to support execution of activities related to recruiting and onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, career planning, compensation planning, recognition, and rewards
- Generate HR reports that give us insights on turnover, DEIB initiatives, or maybe just t-shirt sizes for a company swag mailing!
- Research and recommend activities to improve culture, employee engagement and performance
- Assist with maintenance and data analyses of compensation elements, including job codes, salary ranges, and job market analysis
- Research, document and analyze trends in recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, talent management and compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Document processes, policies, and procedures to establish a repository of institutional knowledge to be leveraged across the organization
- Support the entire People Team for rollout of new and ongoing people programs
- Support the Office manager with preparing for and running events both on-site and virtually
What You Bring
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or similar
- The ability to work 10-20 hours per week, on a schedule that can flex around your class schedule
- The ability to work in our offices at 180 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, as needed
- Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably from a fast-paced work environment
- Genuine interest in HR policies and practices
- The desire to work collaboratively as a part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
