OVERVIEW:
The HR Coordinator is a pivotal member of the HR Team and supports processes and procedures that drive efforts to support business goals, full life-cycle human resources assistance for all employees, assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, and payroll. We need a strong problem solver with reliable decision-making skills and a deep understanding of employee engagement. Must be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a team, and willing to learn from a talented and diverse team. Reports to the Human Resources Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all studio employees
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions via email and Slack
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in Greenhouse and sends recruiting reports throughout the recruiting process
- Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains that they are current
- Assists talent acquisitions with new employee background checks
- Conducts new hire orientations and benefits meetings
- Maintains HRIS records, employee records, reports, and HR database pertaining to applicants and employees
- Assists with audit of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
- Responds to unemployment requests and employment verifications in a timely manner
- Coordinates separation paperwork, communications, and occasionally conducts employee separations
- Administers FMLA, LOAs and ADA processes
- Electronically files documents into appropriate employee files/folders
- Prepares internal correspondence on various HR programs
- Assists Learning & Development with organizational training and development efforts
- Participates in staff meetings and attends various meetings and seminars
- Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, especially Federal and Nevada labor laws. Prior experience with a HRIS database; preferably Workday. Prior experience with an ATS like Greenhouse. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy to include MS Office and G Suite. Requires problem solving, flexibility, dependability, and motivated to accomplish all tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years’ Human Resources experience required, including exposure to the Human Resources administrative functions and Nevada labor laws
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues
- Outstanding interpersonal skills: must display patience, humor and helpfulness at all times – front line contact for employee questions
- Experienced with MS Office, G Suite and HRIS
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills-accuracy is essential
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines while staying organized and pivoting quickly
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time and move between floors
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted or assisted
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Professional certification in Human Resources–PHR or SHRM-CP
