Head of Strategic Planning

About the role:
Thunderful is looking for a Head of Strategic Planning. You will be part of the Strategy Committee, supervising and providing the insights to drive investment opportunities across the company’s revenue pillars in collaboration with our Financial Controller. The Strategy Committee includes the CEO, CFO, and CGO, as well as the business owners. You will be expected to build and shape the insights function over time to maximise its potential.
This is a full-time permanent position with the option to work from any of our offices or from the comfort of your home, fully remote.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate and guide the Strategy Committee's work through performance analysis and market trends, creating an effective forecasting process for our products.
- Become the market expert for Thunderful Games, providing genre benchmarks, competitor benchmarking, and recommendations on monetisation and spending trends
- Provide internal support for our studios and service functions during the creative process - from creating forecast models to stipulating development recommendations on how to engage relevant audiences best by providing a franchise and gap analysis
- Track release performance and impact of release tactics, as well as released titles, and work with the Marketing department to maximise their commercial potential and ongoing user engagement
- Strategy formulation, regular portfolio review, and strategic planning process for investments in collaboration with the Financial Controller
- Collaborate closely with our sales team to provide data-driven advice to maximize revenue potential for our back catalogue.
- Source, build and evaluate internal and external datasets, write surveys, and scrutinize the results to support research and identify key products & industry trends.
- Contributor to M&A projects, including identification and assessment of potential targets and steering of acquisitions and divestments, incl. due diligence and auction processes
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter and a proactive team player who loves working in a high intensity and dynamic environment. You have an outstanding level of curiosity and extraordinarily strong rational skills to find the underlying cause of complex strategic issues quickly while always aiming to make a significant contribution, building on:
- University degree in business, economics, or similar
- Expertise and knowledge of the gaming industry
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Sales Strategist, Management consultant or similar background
- Clear “getting-things-done” mentality - tenacity to overcome potential obstacles unsupervised
- Strong quantitative capabilities, very structured thinking, and proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint
- Executive-level oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
