Role Overview:
Roblox is looking for a senior communicator to lead product communications.
You are confident in designing strategy for everything from individual product launches to visionary thought leadership. Knowledge – and ideally passion – for technical subjects, such as AI, cloud computing, 3D rendering, compute power, etc, is required. You will craft our narrative about the innovative products the company is shipping – spatial voice, layered clothing, and other exciting products – and find moments to highlight the unique technical challenges presented by a platform with more than 50 million daily active users.
You will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs and is based at Roblox HQ in San Mateo, California.
You Will:
As a member of the communications team, you will lead product communications which includes developing crisp, unique and compelling messaging and PR strategies for Roblox product and technology innovations with a goal to support employer branding efforts and partnerships, developer relations and thought leadership.
- Conceptualizing, leading, and executing impactful global, regional or market specific media relations initiatives and campaigns that support business objectives, product launches and technical innovations
- Use storytelling and strategy to ensure Roblox shows up in relevant conversations with a competitive edge
- Work with senior leaders to secure thought leadership opportunities from bylines/ blogs to speaking engagements
- Lead Roblox's participation in the most relevant industry and thought leadership events, both local and internationally
- Work with the head of internal communication to ensure that plans and messages are appropriately communicated to employees
- Bring a creative approach to deliver measurable, attributable results
- Collaborate with PR agencies globally to help develop impactful and efficient results around consumer PR efforts
- Proactively brainstorm new story or campaign ideas
You Have:
- 7-10+ years of experience (preferably at a global public company in the consumer tech, entertainment, media or gaming space) telling product stories
- You have developed impactful and successful PR campaigns (specifically placing tech innovation-focused and employer brand experience stories)
- Proven skill and passion in building relationships with influential media and in successfully delivering high-impact placements
- Understanding of how organizations with large engineering teams and focus on innovation operate and attract talent
- Knowledge in recruitment marketing and talent acquisition tactics
- You will produce content for different markets, channels, and media
- Experience commissioning research or mining internal data to support storytelling and tailoring based on market needs
- Self-motivated, willing to roll your sleeves up to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to forge relationships across the business
- Agency management experience
