OVERVIEW
- The Community Development team is looking for a Head of Player Community to establish, build, and manage the teams responsible for our communities' day-to-day engagement and development, including internal work with our development teams and external work with the community on community platforms. This role will report directly to the VP of Community Development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Work directly with the VP of Community Development, Fortis Leadership, Game Directors, and Community Leads to help define, maintain, and evangelize the voice and community engagement within Fortis and across all Community Platforms
- Shape, develop, and lead the teams focusing on Fortis’ interactions with players, including direct-to-community, social, and influencer/creator relations.
- Develop playbooks to support our global community teams that embody Fortis’ vision and tone, specified to each IP's brand and player/community needs
- Serve as a mentor and build programs to level up Community employees (Leads & Specialists) through training, experience, knowledge sharing, and collaborative projects
- Work closely with our community, playtesting, and internal development teams to evolve community engagement in innovative new directions
- Collaborate with the Community Development Operations team on standardizing community outreach & feedback efforts, establishing qualitative EMV efforts, measuring community health, creating playbooks, and team resource management
- Help build, mentor, and nurture the growth of a team capable of creating & maintaining lanes & relationships between our external communities and our internal game development teams
- Share learnings with the broader organization and contribute to our community strategy's overall development and involvement in the Fortis portfolio of games
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
- You will become a key voice for all Community personnel and ensure quality, consistent feedback about Fortis community culture, leadership, and general day-to-day community operations.
- Manage the allocation of Community Leads and Specialists to appropriate internal game teams through the various stages of development
- You will help coordinate the day-to-day engagement of the Community Development team and develop processes that reinforce the company vision, mission, and values:
- Manage a team of Community Experts for large, collaborative projects across Fortis and our game IPs
- Work with the Community Platforms team to help guide the direct-to-player communications across all of Fortis’ IP, to create a central, consistent voice and experience for Fortis communities
- Help our Community Leads work with our player communities to deliver supplemental qualitative data & feedback to Leadership and Game Directors
- Help craft, manage, and execute campaigns around game & content launches, community celebrations, and player events
- Provide reporting standards for the CDT Operations team around our monthly community activity, data, and campaigns
- Support senior leadership in evaluating community personnel and leveling them appropriately
- You will coordinate with community teams to ensure the seamless integration of community initiatives in our external communities and internal development teams
- You will become an expert in effectively managing a complicated innovation organization

- A willingness to experiment and craft new means of connecting with our external communities and fostering strong relationships.
- Ability to communicate your processes to persuade senior leaders, community leads, and development leads of their value and efficacy.
- Ability to articulate the nuances of various approaches to community development and the tradeoffs associated with different paths
- Ability to synthesize feedback from community teams and refine strategy and approach to ongoing development.
- Enthusiasm for directing, mentoring, and otherwise elevating the people around you to do their best work.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn - we believe this is essential to our ability to stay ahead of the market and value this over years of experience.
