Head of North America Business

PUBG Corp. is the developer and publisher of the blockbuster video game, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG). Since its release, PUBG has received worldwide acclaim and has sold millions of copies, winning multiple game awards worldwide and setting the standard for the battle royale genre. Headquartered in Korea, PUBG Corp. has operational offices globally across North America, Europe, Japan, China, and South East Asia.

Our Santa Monica office is in search of an organized and self-motivated leader to run PUBG’s North America Business. You will be in charge of our Marketing, PR & Community Management divisions and have additional focus on growing our Esports division, helping build out PUBG networks and competitions. You will manage relationships with geographically disparate leaders with the longer-term goal of expanding our PUBG universe and delivering engaging stories over multiple entertainment mediums.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer/Head of West Publishing, you will build and manage the strategic business plan for PUBG publishing in North America
• Develop, direct and plan regional country objectives consistent with the global strategy of PUBG in order to achieve a high quality of service and customer satisfaction
• Motivate and provide inspirational leadership and direction to North American employees ensuring the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization
• Establish effective decision-making processes that will enable long term and short-term goals and objectives
• Develop and grow PUBG’s Esports business in the region and align with global PUBG esports structure. Develop and manage relationships with Esports organizers, teams, and players in the region
• Work closely with the Central team and collaborate with other regional business teams, strengthening internal communications with staff throughout the organization and ensuring that communications across all boundaries (local, regional, and global) are fluid and efficient
• With full P&L responsibility, you will lead the annual budgeting process & strategic planning, whilst closely monitor operating costs and financial results against annual and quarterly plans and budgets, ensuring teams are working to achieve goals.
• Provide regular, high quality, accurate, and timely management information, reports and analysis as required and ensure our business conforms to both country and regional laws and regulations
• Create and promote team growth in a positive, multicultural work environment that is consistent with PUBG mission and vision statement
• Represent the company and manage relationships externally with influencers, press, and third parties in North America
• Put fans first always, with a key emphasis on planning to ensure delivery of outstanding value to our community
• Shape a fun, creative culture at PUBG North America

Requirements:

• Bilingual English / Korean language skills is a must to be considered for this role
• Bachelor’s degree and MBA from top school is a plus
• Minimum 10 (15) years of relevant management or related experience in technology and/or entertainment industry
  • Minimum 5 years of video game industry experience and knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years of executive leadership level experience
• Experience in marketing and operations of video games, especially live games
• Excellent networking and relationship management in the video game industry
• Good level of analytic skills with business intelligence and data analytics
• Understanding of Finance and Accounting to manage P&L for the region
• Very detail-oriented and hands-on with curiosity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience at an agency or with external agency management
• Knowledge of video games and the video game industry
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Able to travel for events as required both globally and domestically
