Head of Instock Management, Entertainment Media

Job summary
We are looking for an Head of Instock Management to improve customer experience and long term cash flow for Entertainment Media through the supply chain optimization and the excellence of inventory management strategy and operation.

Head of Instock Management is responsible for leading automation of inventory management, improving operational workflow and to optimizing end-to-end supply chain by partnering with internal and external stakeholders. It requires effective collaboration with vendors to streamline from ordering to delivery, and with internal resources to best leverage Amazon's logistics capability. Instock Manager is expected to be highly strategic, analytical and action-oriented to carry out a series of analysis and decision making related to inventory purchase, overstock inventory reduction, promotional support and supply chain improvement. This position is also expected to be a leader beyond Entertainment Media, and to be a part of leader’s community of supply chain in Amazon and drive projects to improve buying systems of Amazon platform for long term growth.

The ideal profile of the candidate includes 1) the experience in operations, inventory planning, demand forecasting, and / or product life cycle management, 2) being highly analytical and comfortable with computer databases and tools, and 3) having customer obsession mind, action and results oriented mind. For IT skills, advanced use of Excel and / or Access is expected, and SQL or other programming languages is preferred. Business level of English communication skills are needed in both writing and verbal.

Key job responsibilities
· Lead strategic planning for inventory management and key metrics improvement to accelerate the business growth and optimize long term free cash flow.
· Audit weekly and monthly key metrics such as availability, in-stock rates, turns and inventory health of entire product family
· Collaborate with tech team to improve buying automation and demand forecasting accuracy of tool and system to drive sales and cash flow improvement
· Forecast and manage efficient inbound and outbound inventory flows and health, including forecasting, purchasing, and removing unproductive inventory
· Project management to maximize customer experience related to inventory and operational management
· Drive operational process and efficiency improvement with root cause analysis and appropriate execution
· Reporting directly to senior leaders and global team regarding above weekly/monthly/quarterly key metrics and the progress of action items and project.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree
· 10+ years of experience in supply chain, retail, consulting management or related field.
· Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
· Experience and track record in dealing with technical and non-technical senior level staff
・3+ years of experience in team management
· Communication skills both fluent in Japanese and English (written & verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree/ MBA preferred
· Highly innovative, flexible and self-directed. Track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Process oriented, with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
· Experience leading cross-functional initiatives including technology teams.
· Familiarity with SQL
