A bit about the role:
As Head of Technology, you will have responsibility over the development of our Game Services Platform and our Technology Operations. You will have the opportunity to spearhead Live Services for Games in the rapidly growing area of Play and Earn games, which is poised to transform the video games industry.
In addition, you will help elevate and set a high bar for our technical operations for Immutable Studios and our products and services.
This is an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in the blockchain industry and cryptocurrency. You will play a pivotal role in operating play and earn games and related infrastructure that brings digital ownership to the world via NFTs.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Build our game services platform at Immutable Studios, which makes it easy for our game studios to build and operate a live services game.
- Help build out the technical operations function and be accountable for uptime of our games and services.
- Build our Immutable X integration along with building out our common identity and payment solutions
- Build out the Core Infrastructure Platform which enables various engineering teams to build and scale cloud scale product offerings in an easy and mature manner.
- Build out the Site Reliability Engineering Function and work closely with various engineering teams to architect, build and operate their services in production environments. The SRE team will also be the first line of defense for Production Incidents.
- Pioneer our LiveOps services including Economy & Content management services (including Localization), tooling to run grants for our community, track entitlements etc
- Lead our central multiplayer & progression services offerings, including Matchmaking, Multiplayer servicers, Groups, Chat (Text/VOIP), Leaderboards, Stats, Achievements etc
- Build an experimentation and data platform, which can allow for running experiments in our games and enables us to understand and react to player behaviour
- Develop solutions that are compliant with all relevant data and privacy standards allowing game teams to focus more on the gameplay and gameplay-related services and less on compliance
- Look at all possible options, to build, buy, invest, rent and partner to drive our game services platform forward
We would love you to have:
- Prior Expertise in Site Reliability Engineering, Incident Response and establishing a 24x7 Mission Control Center
- Prior experience with Infrastructure as Code, building core platform offerings for services that scale to millions of users and favoring automations vs manual work
- Prior Expertise in working with multiple stakeholders and balancing priorities
Some extra skills that would be awesome:
- Prior game industry experience

You will sit within the Studio Engineering team where you help to build out high visibility solutions to complex problems that will impact user experience and allow for incredible tools to be developed for your fellow Engineers and Game Developers to utilise. You will be a part of history as the team continues to disrupt and build out the ever-growing play-and-earn function of the gaming industry providing real digital ownership through NFTs on Ethereum giving control back to the players.
