Head of Event Marketing

Your Mission
Your role is to lead the Global Event Marketing Capability. You are accountable for ensuring that our event capability, team, tools, and program meet company needs. You will bring passion and energy to our Event marketing team, a key channel team within the growing central marketing division.
Your mission is to ensure that our event experiences and programs are strategic, inspiring, creative, measurable and goal-focused. You will deliver strategic best-in-class experiences that drive global brand awareness and contribute to the commercial pipeline. You will develop and manage multiple events across a growing calendar, collaborating with stakeholders across Improbable key audiences. You will ensure we are best in class at event measurement and demonstrate clear ROI on every event.
You will be accountable for a program of dynamic events, including but not limited to; owned platform virtual experiences, trade shows, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities, owned demo days and customer showcases, webinars, and 3rd party virtual programs. You will be central to the development of a compelling virtual and in-person events program we scale, measuring, and reporting ROI.
Areas of Impact:
- Marketing leadership. As a senior member of the marketing team, we will look to you to bring value and perspective to our planning process, contributing to how Events support our growth plans and connect with other tactics, fitting in a broader complete marketing plan
- Channel capability build. Continue the build-out of our events capability; including investment to include additional headcount, sponsorship, contractors, collateral, agencies, T&E, etc.
- Optimisation. Optimize the role of events in our marketing mix, driving clear strategy to ensure business goals are being met. Responsible for making sure that we prioritize the correct type, volume, and frequency of events to drive our goals and that we show up in an organized, consistent and effective way.
- Planning, budgeting, measuring, and tracking ROI. You’ll be in control of campaign plans, budgeting, goal setting, measurement and reporting ROI.
- Driving brand engagement success. You’ll be the driving force behind the strategy and execution of our third-party and owned global events (hybrid, virtual, in-person).
- Building strategic event programmes that meet business goals. Plan, organize, promote, coordinate and manage participation in industry trade shows and conferences.
- Execute event experiences end-to-end with an "on-time, on-strategy, on-budget" mentality and hands-on approach. You’ll work with other marketers to deploy 360-degree events.
- Getting creative. You will craft strategic event experiences that differentiate Improbable.
- Aligning with Channel and brand marketing: Closely align with Channel and brand teams to ensure events are aligned to an overall marketing campaign strategy and integrated as part of broader go-to-market strategy.
We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following:
- You are an experienced B2B tech event marketing leader with 8+ years in-house within the tech industry (agency experience is a plus - but this role requires in-house brand experience) with at least 2 years of experience as a Head of or Event Lead role.
- You have managed the transition to virtual. You have experience with virtual event platforms and mastered the ability to engage with users on them. You have led multiple event programs end-to-end from marketing strategy through to results and recommendations and clear ROI.
- You have a data-driven mindset and experience in analyzing campaign results to provide business recommendations.
- You have extensive experience in executing an events program globally; specifically across the UK, Europe, USA.
- You have managed a distributed team in different time zones
- You are an expert at balancing attention to detail with delivering on the big picture.
- You are comfortable multi-tasking, for a variety of stakeholders, in a fast-paced environment.
- No ego; we work as a close team and everyone should be willing to pull their sleeves up and do what is needed to achieve success.
- You thrive in a hyper-growth environment.
- You’re hands-on, curious, and love to explore new ideas.
- You’re organized and cool under pressure; able to execute calmly and rationally during busy events and negotiations.
- Flexible to travel and work weekends when required (this will be less than 30% of time)
