OVERVIEW
- The Community Development team is looking for a Head of Community Platforms to establish, build, and manage the team who operates our community engagement tools, including Social Media, Content Platforms, and our products. This role will report directly to the VP of Community Development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Work directly with the VP of Community Development, Fortis Leadership, Game Directors, and Community Leads to help define, maintain, and evangelize the voice and community engagement within Fortis and across all Community Platforms
- Build, own, and drive the development of the Fortis community communications across various social platforms including, but not limited to: Twitter, Discord, Twitch, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Help build, lead, and nurture the growth of a team of Community Platform specialists and talented creatives. This position will coordinate their activities to achieve Community Platform objectives across the greater Fortis community and our game communities.
- Manage the team who supports the Community Leads and Specialists with their day-to-day community development needs, including social messaging, stream/video production, graphic design, etc.
- Establish standards with the Community Development leads to define, document, and implement processes that support our Community Platform initiatives
- Identify areas of opportunity where Fortis community communication tools, frameworks, and brand channels can be improved, or new community platforms can be implemented
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
- You will become a key voice for all Community personnel and ensure quality, consistent feedback about Fortis community culture, leadership, and overall community engagement.
- You will assist our Community Leads in building authentic relationships with our communities through transparent, thoughtful, and relatable messaging across all types of Community Platforms & channels
- You will establish reporting standards and track Community Platform campaigns’ key performance metrics to maximize results and report progress to leadership and game teams
- You will help coordinate the day-to-day social operations of the Community Development team and develop processes that reinforce the company vision, mission, and values through external engagement:
- Work with the Game Directors, Community Leads, and Specialists to provide guidance, resources, and a consistent voice that will ensure healthy communication and engagement with our communities
- Work with the Community Development Operations team to build and maintain community playbooks to establish and maintain best practices across all of Fortis’ Community Platform initiatives
- You will assist Community Leads and Game Directors in creating community campaigns, creating platform strategies and determining resources for these projects
- You will help drive our vision of “Games Where You Belong” on Community Platforms by creating entrances, building connections, and celebrating our community & players
- Identify and onboard creative agencies who will assist your team in content and asset development
- Support senior leadership in evaluating community personnel and leveling them appropriately.
- You will become an expert in effectively managing a complicated innovation organization.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- A holistic view of community best practices around communication, transparency, and culture – particularly as they apply to community engagement and disciplines
- A finger on the pulse of the Fortis and greater gaming community, surfacing news, industry events, and community members that represent who we are, what we care about, and what our company should know
- A deep understanding of the relationship between the studio, game communities, and the community platforms that drive those relationships and connections. Knowledge of social media and content platforms is a must
- A willingness to experiment and craft new means of connecting with our external communities and fostering strong relationships
- Ability to communicate your platform strategies to persuade senior leaders, community leads, and development leads of their value and efficacy
- Ability to articulate the nuances of various approaches to community development and the tradeoffs associated with different Community Platforms
- Ability to synthesize feedback from our external channels and refine strategy and approach to ongoing development
- Enthusiasm for directing, mentoring, and otherwise elevating the people around you to do their best work.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn - we believe this is essential to our ability to stay ahead of the market and value this over years of experience.
