About this Role:
We are looking for a dedicated team member who can work with senior leadership and, where appropriate, our outside communications specialists to ensure we are being proactive, responsive, and thoughtful on all communications, both internal and external. This role coordinates press efforts across the globe - with particular emphasis on managing our corporate brand with Japanese business media and US tech, gaming, and business media. We move fast and are juggling many exciting opportunities at once. This role will help communicate Playco’s vision to our team members and the world.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead general communication improvements throughout the company using advanced creativity and effectiveness skills.
- Own internal communications spanning from news updates and events to managing company communication channels (like Slack) and All Hands.
- Internal - Regular cadence of news updates - internal and external, big and small - to the company.
- Internal - Events to build trust and camaraderie (in partnership with HR and teams/functions).
- Internal - Managing internal channels for communication (like Slack).
- Internal - Assist/spearhead All Hands and other company events.
- Internal- Pioneering and driving creative and effective ways to support better communication within and throughout a globally distributed company.
- Manage external communications, both inbound and outbound including but not limited to: Inquiries from the press or partners, media outreach, press releases, blogs (particularly for recruiting purposes), social media presence, and sponsorships/events (also for recruiting purposes.)
- General coordination: Hands on control of all media engagement-- ensuring every inquiry is led by the correct execs with messaging and prep managed.
- Thought Leadership: Pitch opportunities around new ideas in how we can position ourselves in gaming generally, instant gaming, social gaming to execs including the CEO and Founders.
Requirements
- 8-12 years experience with background in public relations in gaming or a tech company, preferably with meaningful experience in a fast-paced early to growth stage company.
- Is able to drive interactions with press outlets, social media management, and internal communications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to roll up your sleeves and get in the weeds, a go getter.
- Embraces a global perspective - we are a global company with a global presence!
- Professional but fun demeanor (we are in gaming after all!).
- Defaults to teamwork and collaboration - partnering across the organization and with external partners is critical to success.
- Flexible and creative - we do things differently and move quickly - this needs to be energizing and seen as a challenge, rather than frustrating.
- Values and is good at, creating and maintaining effective process, organization, and documentation.
