Head of Audio, Solutions Games
At Unity we're building a world-class game development team to bring incredible games to life for our customers and showcase our technologies at their best!
As part of our successful Accelerate Solutions business, this exciting new team will bring together designers, artists and engineers in order to build full games for our customers across a variety of platforms.
We’re looking for a creative Head of Audio to manage the audio production needs for our game projects. As you’ll be joining a new team, you’ll initially need to be very flexible and will have a wide range of audio responsibilities. This will include everything from sound design and music composition through to in-game audio implementation. You’ll also help establish the culture and processes we use in the team, including audio facilities and equipment.
As we grow you’ll likely become responsible for hiring and managing additional members of the team to ensure we can meet the audio needs of our projects. This may include additional sound designers, musicians and engineers. You’ll also help us maximise the use of outsourcing where appropriate.
The team will be based around our offices in Stratford-upon-Avon. Whilst we believe it’s essential for creative teams to come together periodically, our hybrid working policy will allow you to find the right balance between working from home and the office.
We're committed to maintaining a diverse team, and we welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing the audio vision, audio production and audio related software engineering for all of our game projects. This may also include musical direction and composition. As the team is currently small, you’ll be very hands-on with our first projects.
- Manage audio outsourcing where appropriate.
- Grow, manage and mentor a larger audio team over time.
- Assist with the production of game pitches and prototypes in the early stages of development.
- Work with other discipline heads to help establish and maintain the culture of this new team. Lead by example and help others reach their potential.
What we’re looking for
- Significant experience in audio production and management for a variety of game titles. This includes direct involvement in sound design, music composition, asset management and scheduling.
- Experience building and managing a high performance audio or software team.
- Experience of working through the full game development cycle, from prototype to release, for several multi-platform games across different genres.
- Excellent knowledge of Unity with experience developing using the engine.
You might also have
- Experience using other 3D real-time engines.
- Strong software development skills, including knowledge of C++ and C# languages.
- Shipped titles on console or mobile platforms.
