Head of APAC Marketing

We are looking for a marketing leader to lead our marketing efforts in APAC with a specific focus on Japan. You will be the first marketing hire focused on a specific region, so we need someone who is strategic and can drive significant impact with minimal oversight and expertise of the market. You will be responsible for setting goals and coordinating across many functions at headquarters to build a strong GTM plan and execute.
This role his highly cross-functional with close relationships across Product, Communications, Partnerships, and Marketing teams. You will have exceptional marketing and project management skills to orchestrate planning and executing of large scale events, marketing campaigns, GTM strategy and more. You will also be very effective in scrappy environments with comfort at driving influence across stakeholders.
This role is full-time and located at our headquarters in San Mateo, California.
You will:
- Work towards the alignment of the global and regional strategies into tactical plans for key markets, especially Japan
- Drive expansion of existing products and new launches in APAC, regionally owning execution of marketing strategies and GTM models
- Develop a strong roadmap for success in Japan and drive GTM plan to achieve success. Replicate similar strategy for other APAC markets (focusing on Japan, China, and South Korea)
- Establish deep understanding of barriers to adoption across all APAC markets
- Collaborate very closely with all cross functional partners including digital marketing, partnerships, product, comms, and growth to driving marketing success
- Be the main POC for agency driving in-market plans and bringing together all XFN towards a unified approach and vision
- Work with research to support primary and secondary market research and analyses to inform strategy
- Ensure proper presence at Top APAC events and conferences working very closely with comms
- Lead marketing budget for APAC region
You have:
- 10+ years marketing experience focused on the APAC region with strong experience leading in region and building a nimble team
- Japan expertise is a plus
- 5+ years building out APAC marketing for a consumer tech company
- Fluency of Japanese, Chinese, or Korean will be an added advantage
- Experience driving cross-functional alignment and working closely with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in messaging, positioning and marketing/content strategy
- Demonstrated experience being hands-on with individual projects
- Experience delivering results in a dynamic business environment
- High attention to detail including precise and effective communications
- Experience working cross-culturally with good cultural knowledge, insight and understanding
