The Role
Repair hardware and isolate software issues related to proprietary VR equipment. The right candidate must be creative in identifying solutions and disciplined with maintaining high-quality standards and documentation. The ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to ever-changing technology needs and conditions is a must.
Duties:
- Receive, test, diagnose, repair and program proprietary VR equipment
- Assist technical support engineers with incidents related to hardware
- Research solutions and escalate issues as necessary
- Create knowledgebase content and document solutions to issues addressed
- Maintain inventory of replacement parts
- Identify trends to resolve problems
- Upgrade device firmware
- Coordinate factory warranty repair
- Provide feedback to manufacturers for product improvement
- Assist with replacement part selection and identification
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Mentor other technicians
Skills Required:
- Able to clearly communicate through written and verbal means
- Must be well organized and able to track multiple issues concurrently
- Understanding of desktop and networking hardware
- Experience handling and soldering small components
- Windows 10 experience
- Device driver installation and removal
- Experience upgrading device firmware
- Familiarity reading system logs
- Demonstrated ability to think outside the box to solve complex issues with inexpensive solutions
- Must be teachable and willing to do tasks beyond job description
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Employment Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport
- Evening and weekend shifts may be required
