Hardware & Manufacturing Program Manager

In 2019 Osmo was acquired by Byju’s, a highly successful company focused on making learning fun. This puts Osmo in a unique position, still acting as a small company, but with the backing and resources of a much larger one. Byju’s has recently raised $540 million, and was valued at over $10 billion.

We’re looking for a mid-level HW/Mfg Program manager who is excited about shipping new Byju’s experiences for kids. The role would help designers develop new products by being the interface between them and our manufacturers. This role also tends to drive the program schedule and margins. Our manufacturers are located in SW Asia with a growing footprint in India and the US.

The role is based out of Palo Alto but would interface with various teams in the US, SE Asia and India. Post-COVID, the role would also entail a fair bit of travel.

The ideal candidate will have brought 1-2 products to market in a Program Manager capacity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the hardware schedule, timelines, margins for hardware driven Byju’s product lines in the Americas
• Ability to interface with Operations/Logistics and Design on deliverables
• Work with key stakeholder teams to update statuses and timelines, discuss and mitigate risks
• Provide leadership teams with updates and communicate risks and timeline impacts where needed
• Provide guidance and focus for team members as needed. Seek out guidance from other teams as needed
• Manufactured and shipped paper/packaging or plastics products from Asia

Good to have

• Manufactured and shipped paper/packaging or plastics from the US and/or Mexico

Requirements

• Shipped 1-2 products in a Program Management capacity
• Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets
• Ability to communicate (verbal + email) clearly across multiple time zones
• Understanding of hardware development timelines and processes
• Ability to interpret BOM costing and forecasting
