Hard Surface Art Intern

Our intern positions are only open to current or graduating students.

With the help and guidance of our hard surface art team, you will be expected to:

  • Create detailed high poly models of gear for our complex loot system.
  • Build high quality proxy/block-out meshes based off varying detail levels of concept that will carry through rigging, animation, design & FX.
  • Build low poly meshes for gear and create efficient unwraps/bakes.
  • Create skins and customizations at varying rarity levels, with our procedural UE4/5 material system.
  • Collaborate with the Weapons & Concept Teams when needed, to develop solutions to reach our visual standards/quality.

Qualifications:

  • A special interest in hard surface art.
  • Diligent, organized, curious, and willing to learn and maintain focus in a fast-paced and structured environment.
  • Able to absorb and apply feedback from Senior Artists.
  • Awareness of the typical 3D game art pipeline (high poly, low poly, unwrap, bake, texture.)
  • Base knowledge of 3DS Max/3D modeling.
  • A portfolio that reflects these base skills.

Extra Credit:

  • Real world experience with/knowledge of firearms and how they function.
  • Sketching, drawing, concept, painting skills.
  • A passion for automotive design and mechanical engineering.
  • An understanding of UE4/5 including tools, materials, lighting, rendering, blueprint etc.
  • Examples of existing tools, scripts, plugins, etc. you have created for pipeline software.
